Dear Parents,

Thank you for choosing Discovering Me for your child. We are confident that both you and your child will enjoy our program.  We offer a full educational curriculum, as well as free play in a safe, secure, encouraging environment and a classroom atmosphere that stimulates skill-building and successful learning. Safety will be promoted through fun activities, with listening and language development incorporated as well.  Weather permitting there will be outdoor play.

September is always such an exciting month for teachers and children alike.  It’s a month of new beginnings—new surroundings, new friends, new experiences, new skills, new challenges!

During the coming weeks we will begin and learn:

• How to Follow Directions
• To Question and Experiment
• School Routines
• “My Body” and “Healthy Me”
• How to Work and Play Together
• “My Family” and “My Home”

We suggest discussing each school day with your child, asking open ended questions and offering positive feedback to reinforce what they’ve learned. Review all work brought home and set aside a special place to display it to build your child’s confidence. Your constant interest plays a important part in your child’s learning success.

This newsletter and monthly calendar highlights our daily curriculum and special activities, and will be sent home at the beginning of each month. It is also posted on our website under “Announcements.”

A Few Reminders:

• Please label all of your child’s belongings.

• Be prompt at arrival and dismissal. If you are running late, notify the school at once.

• Due to COVID-19 protocols we are accepting and dismissing all the children at the door.  No one is permitted to enter the building. The staff will sign your child in and out of the school.

• Be mindful to park in a legal spot when dropping off or picking up your child.  It is illegal and very dangerous to double park on Palmer Avenue.  This also pertains to pulling half way into the driveway and blocking the sidewalk.

• We also ask that you please, please, please encourage your children to leave all toys at home due to health and safety protocols.

• The full month’s tuition is due by the 1st of the previous month (October tuition is due now, November’s is due October 1, etc.) regardless of days absent and/or holidays.  No make-up days are permitted due to full enrollment, the schedule and state regulations. Payments received after the 10th of the month will result in a $25 late fee.

• Please review the list of “Rules for Mom and Dad” on our website in the Parent Zone.  Additions or suggestions are always welcome.

Lastly, please e-mail us a quick hi at so
we can easily add your correct e-mail address to our contact list.  Include your name and your child’s name in the e-mail.

As always, if you have any questions, concerns or suggestions, please feel free to call any time.

Sincerely, Carol, Laurie, and Staff
