December Newsletter

Dear Parents,

Hope everyone enjoyed Thanksgiving now it’s on to our Winter Holidays – Hanukkah, Christmas & Kwanzaa.  That means there’s lots of seasonal festivities and fun in our classroom!

This month will be an exciting time for your child.  During the coming weeks, we will continue our number lessons; learn about customs and traditions of holiday celebrations as well as the start of winter.  Your child will bring home projects, crafts, decorations and wonderful stories to share with you.  Don’t forget to ask your child about science Fridays.

You can continue your child’s learning fun at home by:

- Sharing with your child holiday traditions that are unique to your family

- Helping your child to make holiday decorations and/or baking with your child

- Reading holiday and “wintertime” books with your child

We go outdoors even in the cold so please dress your children accordingly.

Registration papers and information for Summer Camp and September 2019 are attached.  Registration is taking place now and is on a first come first serve basis.  After December our registration will be open to the public so please take advantage of this opportunity to secure your spot for summer camp and all September sessions.

This month we will also be having the first of our two fundraisers.  Information will be sent home shortly.

Just a few reminders –

  • School will be closed from Monday December 24th through Wednesday January 2nd.  School will reopen on Thursday, January 3rd.
  • Please check the clothing in your child’s shoe box – some still have summer clothing in them.
  • Remember to label all of your child’s belongings – jackets, hats, mittens, etc.
  • Please be on time at drop-off and pick-up times.  We are staffed accordingly.
  • Make sure we are made aware of any changes such as phone, numbers, e-mail addresses, persons authorized to pick-up your child, home addresses, etc.
  • Remember to check your e-mail for important messages, reminders or information on weather related school closings or delayed openings.

At this time the staff and I would like to extend our wishes for a Happy, Healthy and Safe Holiday Season!

Sincerely,

Carol, Laurie and Staff
